E911 National Office facilitates trial of cutting-edge next generation emergency response system for PNP coming soon.
Very soon, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will have improved tools to manage and react to crises, natural catastrophes, situations caused by people, and other distress calls. Francis Fajardo, the executive director of the E911 National Office, has made it possible for the PNP to test a state-of-the-art, next-generation 911 system that will provide them access to top-notch emergency response capabilities, comparable to those found in the US and Europe. Taking his cue from the current administration’s focus on quick response and resilience in the face of disasters and emergencies, and the directive of DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos’ to make the national emergency program adapt to the digital age by making it useful for all forms of public emergency calls countrywide, the Executive Director has asked NGA 911 (Next Generation Advanced 911)/NGCS to provide the national police with its patented call handling system.
