DBP UNVEILS 75TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE BOOK

State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has unveiled a special commemorative book that captures the breadth and scope of its developmental initiatives for the past 75 years, top officials said.
DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel G. Herbosa and Director Dante V. Liban jointly said the book titled “Creating Opportunities, Building Possibilities” features stories of selected institutions, clients, and partners that DBP has assisted through the years.
“This special commemorative book aptly chronicles DBP’s long and remarkable history as the country’s premier development financial institution by focusing on the compelling narratives of the people whose interests the Bank has advanced through its different funding facilities and banking services,” Herbosa said.
DBP is the eighth largest bank in the country in terms of assets and provides credit support to four strategic sectors of the economy – infrastructure and logistics; micro, small and medium enterprises; environment; social services and community development.
Among the DBP clients featured in the book are the provincial government of Batangas, Romblon Electric Cooperative, local petroleum player Insular Oil Corporation, solid waste management company FDR Integrated Resource Recovery Management, Inc., and private water utility firm Richli Water Corporation.
DBP Director Liban, who also chairs the Bank’s Development Advocacy Committee and Oversight Committee on the 75th Anniversary celebration, said the launch of the book is also a fitting way to cap off the Bank’s year-long 75th anniversary celebration.

Kenny Rogers Roasters recently unveiled what may yet be the first and biggest 3D interactive billboard of roasted chicken in the country on EDSA corner Apo street in Mandaluyong City.
The hyper-realistic billboard showcases four mouthwatering products in 3D effect, starting with its signature Kenny Rogers Roasters’ Roasted Chicken; the Baby Back Ribs on Brick Oven; Signature Corn Muffins, as well as eight of its all-time favorite side dishes.

OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY CHAPEL AT SM MAKATI

Asolemn blessing and celebration of the Holy Eucharist was held at the Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Chapel on December 10, at 11am, Third level, SM Makati. This was led by His Eminence Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, Jr. D.D. , who officiated the chapel blessing together with its mission station priest Fr. Reginald Malicdem and members of the Sy Family.
Designed by Casas + Architects, Inc., the 200-seater chapel is near the exits to the MRT station making the chapel accessible to commuters. It is inspired by modern designs of the other SM Chapels in SM City North EDSA and SM City Grand Central with the same name and dedicated to patroness Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
Some of the Chapel’s major highlights include the Sacred Sculptures of the Crucifix, Statue of the Image of Our Lady of the Rosary and St. Joseph and Baby Jesus statue as well as a tabernacle or sacrament house at the altar and a sacristy room.Thebronze Stations of the Cross give the chapel a contemporary look.
Daily masses at the chapel will be Monday to Saturday at 12:15 PM and 6:00 PM and on Sundays and Holidays at 12:00 PM, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
The administration and management of the chapel will be under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Reginald Malicdem of Roman Catholic Archbishop of Manila.
Aside from the Chapels of Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary, SM has opened chapels at SM Megamall and SM Aura, as well as the Shrine of Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life at the Mall of Asia Complex and the Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod in SM Seaside in Cebu.
BIR URGESVAPE TRADERS TO COMPLY WITH BIR, DTI REQUIREMENTS
Following the seizure of tons of smuggled and untaxed vape products from five (5) big-time illicit vape traders, BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr. calls on all distributors and sellers of vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products, novel tobacco products, and their devices (herein referred to as vape products) to comply fully with the business registration requirements and other tax obligations specified in BIR Revenue Regulations (RR) No. 14-2022 and DTI Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 22-16.
The said RR and DAOwere issued to implement pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 11900 (Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act). These provided that the sale or distribution of vape products through internet websites or via e-commerce and/or other similar selling platforms shall only be made by online sellers or distributors registered with the BIR and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).
Duly registered distributors, merchants, or retailers of Vape Products are reminded to post the required government certificates and approvals of the products conspicuously on the landing page of their website and/or selling platform. And that in case of any violations of the said BIR/DTI requirements by the online distributors/sellers, the online selling platform providers should immediately suspend the sale of the Vape Products in their e-commerce platform.
In addition to the registration requirements, there are also other compliance and administrative requirements laid down in RR No. 14-2022 that must be strictly followed by the manufacturers or importers of the Vape Products. Violations of the Regulations shall be subject to the corresponding penalties.
