VIRRCO, presented his first wearable hand-painted art fashion show entitled "PINAY" for the celebration of Women's Month at SM Sta. Mesa.

In observance of Women’s Month, SM City Sta Mesa the new Centerpoint proudly brings art closer to public with an art exhibit entitled Pinay featuring the latest collection of hand-painted art by seasoned one-eyed artist Rommel Rico aka Virrco this time in a souvenir item which is a miniature boat locally called paraw.

From March 1-31, witness the art tribute to the heroics of Pinay women of different occupations each uniquely painted in each paraw depicting Pinay be she a homemaker, teacher, nurse local or OFW in a very captivating fashion and colorful vibe.

And, The idea of hand-painted paraw stemmed from the imaginative collaboration of Paraw World and Virrco that resulted in a unique souvenir art form which will benefit the livelihood of local fisherfolks in Panay who are the makers of the raw craft.

Virrco’s previous venture of hand-painted wearable art had its successful run and has gained attention and reception of the public since October of last year. His distinct style of one-eyed women has been robust in most of his works that speaks of women’s unwavering ability to focus. The merchandise run benefitted the Smile Train Foundation, an organization that helps children with cleft palate.

Speaking of wearable art through hand-painted bags and shirts, Virrco had launched his latest collection feting Pinay in Virrco Wearable Art Fashion Show last March 19 4^th floor Activity center.

VIRRCO has a big heart that reflects thru his art, his inspiration in life in his one - eyed women paintings, because his proud and aware of the hardships of being a woman like he sees on his mom, aunt and her fellow women friends. For him, the key to inspire others is thru his art. And there’s no better way to start than Pinay empowerment which is the sublime message of the exhibit.

Pinay now is the modern enlightened version with the will power of Darna while preserving the values of Maria Clara.

Women rules in the society filled with ambitions and aspirations.
