As the Filipinos’ longest and most-awaited holiday arrives, Home Credit Philippines (HCPH), the country’s leading consumer finance company, reveals the top commodities customers, via Home Credit, availed during the 2023 holiday season: mobile phones and tablets, home appliances, TV and electronics, and computers.
Last year, HCPH's holiday sales were outstanding, hitting PHP16.3 billion in the fourth quarter, or 32% of Home Credit's total sales in 2023. This was driven by its The Great 0% Festival and demonstrated the huge buying habits of Filipinos over the holiday season. Sales of PhP7.3 billion in December alone highlighted the last-minute shopping frenzy as people bought presents for their loved ones and themselves.
The most in-demand categories during the 2023 holiday season were mobile phones and tablets, home appliances, televisions and electronics, and computers. Mobile phones and tablets were leading the charge, comprising 53% of the total sales at PHP8.6 billion, with top brands such as Apple, Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, Honor, and Xiaomi dominating the market.
Home appliances followed closely, accounting for 15% of total sales, with brands like Panasonic, Condura, Samsung, LG, and Fujidenzo being the most popular. In the televisions and electronics category, TCL, Samsung, LG, Skyworth, and Sony stood out as the top-performing brands.
“At Home Credit, we recognize our role as a reliable partner in helping Filipinos achieve their aspirations. This is why we launched The Great 0% Festival last year, to enable them to enjoy a wide array of products through flexible installment plans with no interest—aligning with our campaign tagline, 'Laban lang, para sa life goals.' Our 2023 sales figures reflect how Filipinos embrace the holiday spirit by giving gifts to loved ones and rewarding themselves for their hard work throughout the year,” Puneet Suneja, HCPH Chief Sales Officer, said.
Home Credit’s 2024 holiday season
As the Filipinos’ longest and most-awaited holiday, Christmas is usually the season where most are excited to shop for gifts to show their love for family and friends, while also rewarding themselves. In keeping with this festive spirit, HCPH is looking at a significant increase in sales, projecting a 25% surge from last year’s PHP 16 billion.
This anticipated growth is driven by strong demand for key items available through HCPH financing during the holidays. Apart from its best-selling commodities, the company is also looking at furniture, e-bikes, sporting goods, department store merchandise, and motorcycle units as drivers of this increase. The company's forecast is based on a sales report, which showed remarkable performance in these categories from October to December last year.

As Filipinos’ trusted lifestyle partner, HCPH is ready to spread more festive cheer this holiday season. With the anticipated shopping rush, HCPH will once again offers exciting holiday deals and flexible installment plans, ranging from six to 24 months through its partner stores. Mobile phones and tablets, household appliances, televisions and other gadgets, computers, furniture, e-bikes, sporting goods, and many other items will be easier for Filipinos to buy as presents for their loved ones and as a treat for themselves thanks to these sales.
