Mountain Bike Racing known as MTB or ATB racing is gaining its popularity nowadays because,  a lot of individuals is entering into a new sports to stay healthy and fit. Some are eager to experience exciting trail ride challenges. I was so excited and at the same time curious about Enduro Pilipinas Presscon. I was thrilled and overwhelmed by this Sports. Upon seeing those fabulous photos of Bikers on top of a mountain makes me more eager to know more about how Enduro Pilipinas started and their vision for future races here in our country and abroad.

As we all know that, Enduro Mountain Bike Racing is a form of Mountain bike racing in which there is a number of timed downhill sections of trail, and a number of uphill transfer stage to test your endurance, speed and physical stamina to finish a race. 

During, Enduro Pilipinas Press Conference happened at R.O.X, BGC, Taguig last February 15. It talks about the History of Philippine Enduro, Future National Races for 2017, Induction of Officers, Launching of the Enduro Mobile App and Enduro Asia Magazine with Mr. Sly Lumbao, founder and organizer of Enduro Network.

Just to give you a glimpse on how Enduro Pilipinas started, according to my research, Enduro started much like mountain biking itself – it filled a new, emerging need for bike riders. Mountain bike racing has always highlighted the extremes of the sports, said Mr. Lumbao. The Enduro Network started in 2012 and has continued its inaugural season into 2013.

It all started when a friend of Mr. Sly invited him for a ride in Angono Rizal way back in 2008. He instantly fell in love with the uphill and down hill race of the mountain. In early 2010, he met a small group of riders who introduced him to a real trail riding. The group evolved from epic XC (cross country) riders to AM (all mountain) and the name of the group is BACAT.

So, Mr. Sly conceptualized its first leg of race for The Enduro Network in Bataan for only 35 riders in 2013. Now, on its 5th year, growing with big numbers of riders and continuing his passion in bringing Enduro Race within those amazing trail spots within our land, wherein numerous Filipino Riders and MTB Enthusiasts are helping hand in hand with Mr. Sly Lumbao and Ms. Ione Baron Mejia, Managing Director of Enduro Philippines to bring more Enduro Race globally.  With its fast appeal within the MTB world, lots of bikers are joining, not only to test their endurance but to gain respect of their fellow athlete, to develop solid camaraderie and friendship among peers of riders and to share their passion of Mountain Biking across the Globe. To simply appreciate the beauty of their surroundings. To conquer difficult trails, to test their stamina and to believe on themselves that they can finished the race with dignity and Self-confidence.



Together with Mr. Sly Lumbao, founder & organizer of  The Enduro Network,  Dept. of Tourism in Zambales, Marketing and Media Network spreading its good news to all MTB & Enduro Riders for its 5th year organizing Enduro races across the country.

I'm glad to say that Mr. Sly Lumbao, pioneer of Enduro Pilipinas, is a family man and has a great passion in Mountain Bike Racing and a race organizer mentor. Also, he is a member of EMBA- Enduro Mountain Bike Association and professional K9 Behaviorist.

What I loved most with Enduro Philippines, the organizers has a mission and vision to uplift our PH Tourism by going places and beautiful virgin mountains around the Philippines, showcasing those wonderful scenery on their trail races events, they are discovering new places that can be feautured on their EnduroAsia Magazine that attracts foreign people to join and experience the fun and excitement of being part of Enduro Pilipinas and also, experience the hospitality and generosity of native Filipino's in the Provinces. A job well done for Enduro Pilipinas Team. Big salute to all of the organizers.
